Merchants Manor

Merchants Manor
A Life Lived Well

Overview

Merchants Manor is a much-loved hotel and spa in Falmouth, known for its laid-back luxury, standout dining, and quietly confident sense of style. With an exciting new chapter on the horizon, the team came to us for a visual and messaging refresh, something to help sharpen their story, elevate the brand, and bring fresh energy across every touchpoint.

We worked closely together to shape a new creative direction, centred around one flexible idea: a life lived… From there, everything flowed – a refreshed tone of voice, refined visual identity, and messaging that confidently celebrates what makes Merchants Manor so special: food, spa, and setting.

Contact

Merchants Manor had a strong offer and a loyal following, but their brand wasn’t quite doing it justice. They needed a clearer identity and a more expressive way to tell their story – something that could unite the hotel’s many strengths and help carve a more confident path forward.

We kicked off with insight and research: exploring their audience, mapping trends, and reviewing what else was out there in the world of hospitality. From there, we moved into creative development, using what we’d found to guide a new direction rooted in the feeling of being at Merchants.

The central message – a life lived… – gave us a springboard to speak across everything they offer. A life lived deliciously nodded to their food philosophy. A life lived relaxing spoke to the spa. And a life lived by the sea grounded everything in their Cornish setting. It’s a brand idea that can flex and grow as they do, while still feeling rooted in place and purpose.

Visually, we refreshed the identity with a more elevated but still accessible feel; modern, elegant, and practical day-to-day. We delivered a comprehensive brand toolkit including tone of voice, messaging, photography direction, and creative examples covering menus, signage, and social templates.

The result is a brand that feels calm, confident and distinctly them – a clear step forward, without losing the charm that’s always been there.
