Doing things properly

Doing things properly

Sustainability is one of those words that gets thrown around a lot.

Sometimes it means changing everything. More often than not, it’s just about making slightly better decisions, over and over again.

We’re not here to pretend we’ve cracked it. We’re a growing independent agency in Cornwall, and we’re always looking at where we can do better. Not because it’s fashionable, but because it feels like the right thing to do.

Some of those choices are visible. Our studio runs on solar power. We work with local creatives, photographers and makers wherever we can, keeping projects and investment within the region. When it comes to production, we choose suppliers carefully, favouring those who share our approach to quality, longevity and sustainability.

Others happen quietly in the background.

A nice surprise recently came when we discovered one of our website hosting partners has been quietly doing its own bit too.

The internet has a footprint. Every website lives on servers that need powering around the clock, and that’s something most people (ourselves included) don’t spend much time thinking about. Knowing many of our websites are hosted by a company investing in renewable energy and more efficient infrastructure feels like another small decision we’re glad we’ve made. It wasn’t the reason we chose them in the first place, but it’s certainly a reason to stay.

The same thinking runs through the rest of the business.

We’re big believers in investing in people. That means creating opportunities for emerging designers, championing local talent and building long-term relationships with the people we collaborate with. It also means giving clients the confidence to take ownership of what we’ve created together, whether that’s through editable websites, practical brand guidelines or training that helps teams use their new brand day to day.

Because good branding shouldn’t create dependency.

It should give people the tools to keep moving forward.

For us, social value isn’t a separate part of the process. It’s built into the way we work, the people we work with and the decisions we make every day.

No grand gestures.

Just trying to do things properly.
