Seven Stones opens its doors

Seven Stones opens its doors

We went to Penzance to celebrate the opening of Sevenstones store in Penzance, the latest venture of brother and sister duo Kate & James Deseta.

The new store was the fourth opening since their first men’s and women’s clothing shop Academy & Co opened in 2007 in St Ives. Since then, they opened a second clothing store called Number 8, and a homeware store Port of Call, both situated in St Ives. They later consolidated their St Ives operations, retaining Academy & Co and closing their other two St Ives stores.

Seeing the potential for Penzance and the site in Causewayhead, they purchased a building there and began major work to renovate it into a ground-floor mezzanine retail space with working studios above. This move has now become part of a new lease of life for business developments in the town, with a vibrant and exciting high street forming in recent years.

The new store has a mix of men’s and women’s clothing, some lifestyle products, and photo books. The opening night was in collaboration with Carhartt, with an illustrator designing a limited edition tee that Sevenstones had up for grabs. Local dough slingers Pizza Roja were there keeping everyone fed and watered with a special beer supplied by St Ives Brewery for the opening.

Alongside Carhartt WIP, the Penzance store also stocks YMC, Aries Arise, Toast, Nanamica, Snow Peak, Clarks, Paraboot, Goodhood, New Balance, Birkenstock, and many more in an ever-changing brand list.

At Meor we’ve worked with Kate & James De Seta for many years creating the brands for the shops, packaging, postcards and vouchers.
