A Taste of the Salt

For thousands of years, Plymouth has been shaped by the people who work its waters.

Over the past few months, in collaboration with Plymouth Fishing and Seafood Association and Filmmaker Jack Williams of High Water Films, we’ve been tracing their story – joining fishermen on their vessels, following the comings and goings of the Fish Quay, and capturing the thoughts, feelings and hopes of the merchants, processors and fishermen that make up the industry in Plymouth.

From merchants who’ve worked there for generations, to the youngest active member of the fleet, our film brings the voices of Plymouth’s fishing community to the surface.

This is for the fishermen, merchants, and chefs, first and foremost – thank you for welcoming us into your workspaces and so generously sharing your stories.
